Information Session
Sep 4, 2025: 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Watson Pavilion
The DeLaney Center—Washington and Lee’s hub for the study of Southern race relations, culture, and politics—invites you to start the new school year by meeting its affiliates and hearing about its ongoing work. As we commence our fourth season, we will celebrate where our journey has taken us even as we eye exciting future destinations. Three DeLaney Center campaigns have produced five faculty hires, twelve undergraduate summer internships, sixty-plus programs, and hundreds of participants, collaborators, and attendees. Maintaining this momentum, our upcoming activities refine core initiatives like the Freedom Ride pre-orientation trip, the DC Saturdays civil rights adventures, the Screen to Square film series, and the Race and Southern-ness symposium. Alongside these established endeavors, we will launch the First Draft research sharing colloquium and the expanded DC Leads cohort. Everything that we undertake aims to foster civic excellence. To hear details, join us for the festivities on Thursday, September 4th at 5:30PM in the Watson Pavilion. All are welcome, and refreshments will be served. If you have any questions, please contact Sandy Sibold at delaneycenter@wlu.edu.
